Attended the 2019 17th European Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ECSMG) in Iceland - Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation, MOA

In order to improve Taiwan’s engineering management technology for slopeland disasters and corresponding countermeasures for disaster prevention and reduction, the SWCB dispatched representatives to attend the 17th ECSMG in Iceland, with Taiwan’s Ching-Wee Chen (Professor, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU)), Tien-Chien Chen (Chairperson, National Pintung University of Science and Technology), Chih-Ming Tseng (Professor, Chang Jung Christian University) and Rou-Fei Chen (Professor, Chinese Culture University), where they discussed prevention methods and adaptation strategies with experts and scholars from all over the world regarding large-scale slopeland disasters caused by climate change, with the expectation of establishing a window of dialogue with other countries to expand Taiwan’s diplomatic channels, thus, improving Taiwan’s prevention and control technology for natural disasters caused by climate change.
