Soil and Water Conservation Bureau, Taiwan Enjoyed Great Success and Fruitful Exchanges at the IFSEC Philippines

Soil and Water Conservation Bureau visited the Philippines during June 13 to 15 to attend the International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference Philippines’ “Security・Fire·Safety” conference and engage in exchanges with the soil and water conservation technology industries with the government’s New Southbound Policy. IFSEC is one of the most prestigious safety and disaster prevention exhibitions in Southeast Asia and held this year’s event at the SMX Convention Center in Manila. The event held more than 150 participating companies from approximately 15 countries and attracted up to 4,000 visitors.

SWCB planned the “Taiwan Disaster Prevention Pavilion”, showcasing the soil and water conservation industry chain in Taiwan with Sinotech Engineering Consultants, Inc., etc. The pavilion showcased Taiwan’s progress in disaster prevention and relief. Furthermore, IOT and smart technology applications enhanced the display of disaster prevention information and technology applications, facilitating the promotion of the soil and water conservation industry worldwide.

In addition, in order to promote disaster relief experience exchanges and enhance disaster prevention/relief awareness, the bureau hosted an international seminar on June 14, where Fu Kuei-lin, director of the Tainan branch of SWCB and Chou Tien-Yin, president of Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry, invited representatives from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Office of Civil Defense, National Security Council, University of the Philippines and other organizations to showcase their technologies and applications. This conference marked the first successful event for the promotion of the internationalization of Taiwan’s soil and water conservation and disaster prevention industries and gave importance to the international collaboration of the industry. It was hoped that the seminar, attending the conference and all the exchanges would make it more likely to Taiwan to collaborate with these Southeast-Asian countries.
