Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nicaragua Hon. Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres led a delegation to visit the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Taiwan on 27th February 2020. Delegates included the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Hon. Edward Francisco Centeno Gadea, Minister of Finance and Public Credit Hon. Iván Adolfo Acosta Montalván, Director General of Disaster Prevention Dr. Guillermo José González González, and Nicaraguan Ambassador William Manuel Tapia Aleman.

The Soil and Water Conservation Bureau was represented by Hsiao-Yuan Yin, director of the Debris Flow Disaster Prevention Center. During the meeting, Taiwan’s achievements on soil and water conservation and slope prevention were shared. Nicaragua delivered the hopes that Taiwan can assist in water conservation, disaster prevention, and water resources irrigation technologies to reduce the threat of disasters in Nicaragua in the future.
