The Overview of the International and Cross-Strait Exchanges Held by Soil and Water Conservation Bureau in December 12 to December 13

The Council of Agriculture convened the 11th Taiwan-Vietnam formal meeting on agriculture and fisheries cooperation. The two moderators were Vice Chairman Chin-cheng Huang, and Kuo-ying Li, Vice Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Twenty-one issues were read and confirmed, followed by the signing of the minutes by Richard RC Shih of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam and Tran Duy Hai, Vietnamese representative in Taiwan. Two cooperation proposals for disaster prevention and rural areas were successfully passed. After the meeting, Zhu Wenzhang, Deputy Director General (chief official of the working conference) of the Vietnam International Cooperation Organization expressed his thanks once again to the Bureau. The exchange on landslide disaster prevention proposed by the Taiwan side is particularly important to Vietnam, which is in the influence of climate change at this stage. In the future, the cooperation between the two parties in disaster prevention will be greatly facilitated.
