Students of “Nicaragua Geographical Interpretation Data Construction and Capability Construction” visited Debris Flow Observatory in Jioufenershan

The International Cooperation and Development Fund and Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research, National Central University led eight governmental officials from the Nicaragua Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Bureau and the Land and Resources Monitoring Bureau, to visit the disaster prevention, reduction results, and debris flow disaster observation stations in South Jioufenershan, and demonstrated Taiwan’s applications of intelligent technologies, such as information and communication technology (ICT) and the Internet of Things (IOT). The participants were impressed by the application of SWCB to develop automatic monitoring technology, debris flow disaster response strategies, and failure observation technology, and expressed that, as Nicaragua is also an area with frequent earthquakes and wind disasters, Taiwan has many technologies that are worthy of reference.
