2015 Rural Village Leadership Award Winners Were Invited in Presidential Palace

In order to enhance rural village sustainable development and rejuvenation, The Council of Agriculture (COA) held “2015 Rural Village Leadership Award” this year and selected 30 winners with outstanding contribution to rural community development. These rural heroes’ efforts were valued by President Ma Ying-jeou and they were received on December 31. Deputy Director Chi-ching Chen of COA and Director-General Chen-yang Lee of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB) guided them to receive the honor. President Ma not only acknowledged these heroes’ contribution to rural villages in Taiwan and demonstration of characteristics of different rural dimensions (fine goods, excellent youth, good environment and fine base), but also recognized enthusiasm of youth people to rural villages. He expected that these winners could continue their passion and specialties to lead to new drive to rural villages in Taiwan by capacities from 30, 3000, 300,000 and even more people.
