New Rural Village Era with Potential Manpower Searching for 30 Rural Heroes

In order to explore infinity of rural villages and enhance exchange among different circles, The Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB), in 2015, at Eslite Songyan Store Performance Hall, implemented innovative future forum “rural village infinity” by simplified lecture and held awarding ceremony of online pictures and articles recruitment “discovery of rural villages. N times of power”. Minister Bao-chi Chen of the Council of Agriculture granted the awards and made the speech in the forum which invited experts of “agriculture”, “operation”, “entrepreneurship”, “marketing” and “food” to create new force of rural villages. 
     On the day of 21th, Minister Chen was present in awarding ceremony to encourage more people to continue being creative in rural villages. He participated in “innovative future forum of rural village infinity” after the ceremony. Minister Chen stated that agriculture of Taiwan is based on top technology and energy in the world; however, it should also be transformed and adjusted. It relies on more creativity and talents to thoroughly upgrade innovative capacity and environment of agriculture in Taiwan and result in infinity of future rural villages. 
     Mr. Jun-ji Chang, the founder of Housheng Market, shared his experience to give up technology research as the doctor of University of Oxford and turn to agricultural production marketing platform. Mr. Chung Hsu, the first person in Taiwan to obtain master degree from University of Gastronomic Science, proposed unique views on current food culture and food safety problems. Mr. Si-wei Tu, the second generation of farmers, who has worked and studied in U.S., shared his experience to turn to organic cultivation and story to construct the brand “Land of Milk and Honey”. Ms. Hui-hsian Chiang, Deputy Editor of Reveals Book, by media report and participation experience, pondered on image of rural villages, explored future of agriculture, provided land-friendly products and turned consumption into force of change. 
After online pictures and articles recruitment of popular “N times of creativity to rural villages” in 2014, SWCB, in 2015, adopted “discovery of rural villages. N times of force” as the topic to invite people with passion on homeland in Taiwan to be creative and search for rural power. The responses were impressive. The first-place winner Mr. Yi-ming Hsiung described that tobacco farmers still remained unique “labor exchange” model of ancestors.The collaborative cohesion structure not only enhanced production and strengthened interpersonal relationship, but also resulted in intangible assets of team work. The second-place winner Ying-cheng Chen pictured the force of nature and prayed for harmonious weather to great farmers who were devoted to the cultivation of homeland. This recruitment showed multiple highlights of rural villages in Taiwan, reflected on connection between humans and land, cultivated food to nourish life and recognized new hope of agricultural value.
