Exchanges of the personnel from the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau at abroad in July 23 to July 29

Director Chen-yang Lee of the Bureau led a total of 12 colleagues and experts and scholars to Japan to attend exchange activities for the sand prevention technology between Taiwan and Japan, including attending the symposium on sand prevention between Taiwan and Japan, the executives meeting and the investigation of the Fukushima reconstruction after the 311 earthquake. At the seminar, Secretary Chen-yang Lee shared the current status and issues of soil and water conservation in Taiwan's hillsides under climate change. During the seminar, he exchanged views with Japanese scholars and officials on such issues as early warning, evacuation, disaster prevention and contingency management of landslide disaster events. They learned from each other's experience and technologies, and looked forward to jointly promoting the fruitful achievements of the two countries in sand prevention technology to Southeast Asian countries.
