In response to the investigation and planning of large-scale slope failure, and to improve the management of slopeland disasters, the Tainan Branch and Nantou Branch of the SWCB specially invited five experts and scholars, including the representatives of the Japan Disaster Prevention Technology Co., Ltd., namely the head Mr. Akira Tsuchiya, and the department head Mr. Yoshito Ogawa; the representatives of the OYO Corporation, namely the department head Mr. Tetsuro Kitahara and the deputy department head Mr. Masashi Tanigawa; as well as Dr. Hasbaatar, to Taiwan for exchange visits on six project sites, and held a seminar on slopeland failure monitoring and safety management on September 4, in order to understand the current land design principles and handling countermeasures of large-scale failure, as well as the subsequent deployment of slopeland safety monitoring systems in Japan.
