Performance Presentation of the Soil and Water Conservation in 2017

With long-term challenge regarding climatic change which influences environment and gradual rise of public consciousness of ecological conservation, in order to enhance responsive measures to effects of climatic change, the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB) implemented overall erosion and sediment control and disaster prevention projects and executed authorization, technology and innovative research plans regarding the soil and water conservation, rural village renewal and investigation and planning of watershed. For the concern of common consensus of different circles and promotion of remarkable performance of authorized projects, from May 23 to 24, it held “performance presentation of the soil and water conservation in 2017” in National Chung Hsing University, selected authorized projects, innovative research projects, technology projects and engineering performance in 2017 and classified them into four topics, “the soil and water conservation”, “rural village renewal”, “slopeland disaster prevention” and “technological industry” to share executive results with industrial, governmental, academic and research circles.

In this year, the site of performance presentation of the soil and water conservation is divided into three zones: “poster presentation”, “presentation stalls” and “project presentation”. From 293 authorized, technology and innovative research projects in 2017, it selected 47 projects for oral presentation of 10 minutes. In addition, it presented performance of 58 projects by posters and invited 11 companies to present the latest technology of the soil and water conservation and prevention of debris flow. This presentation enhanced the exchange of different circles and it aims to continuously make efforts for sustainable development of the soil and water conservation in Taiwan.

On the afternoon of the second day of the activity, it was the visit at Losan Garden environmental enhancement construction in Miaoli County. The said construction was granted as Excellence of Executive Yuan Public Works Quality Award. Losan not only provided local featured food for the guests, but also introduced community construction in detail. Subsequently, it guided the guests to visit the community, enjoy the comfortable atmosphere surrounded by Eucalyptus and enhance the knowledge.
