Climate change has led to a higher occurrence frequency of compound disasters and various types of slopeland disaster. The concurrence of geohazards, such as shallow landslides, debris flow and large-scale landslides has also made it a challenge to precisely predict disasters and map out responsive strategies. In this regard, the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau invited 10 experts and academics from Japan to present keynote speeches in Taiwan. The topics will encompass international achievements and advances in landslide prevention and relevant technology in recent years. Experience regarding disaster prevention efforts will also be exchanged to enhance mutual competence in landslide control and response.
