Director-General Lee Led the Colleagues to Visit Laopi Farm of Taiwan Tea Corp. and Soil and Water Conservation Demonstration Zone of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology

On the morning of June 19, Director-General Chen-yang Lee of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB) led Deputy Director Chang-li Lin, Deputy Director Jin-lun Wang, and directors of the bureaus to visit drip irrigation system and soil and water conservation facilities of farmland of Laopi Farm of Taiwan Tea Corp. The system was introduced from Israel. As to irrigation of tea trees, it saved effectiveness of water source, reduced working hours and increased economic benefits; in the afternoon, they visited Soil and Water Conservation Demonstration Zone of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. Department Chair Tian-chian Chen introduced planning and construction of soil and water conservation facilities of farmland. In zones A and B, environmental arrangement and measurement in detail of terrain have been accomplished. They assisted with construction and design of outdoor classrooms of soil and water conservation of the terrain in Thailand and designed teaching materials of the exchange between Taiwan and Thailand.
