SWCB and the Meteorological Bureau visited the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences of the University of Colorado, where including various scientific researches between human and the environment on global and regional scales. They also paid visits to NOAA / ESRL (Earth System Research Laboratory) / GSD (Global System Division), the weather forecast office of NOAA / NWS (National Weather Service) in Boulder, NOAA/OAR (Office of Oceanic & Atmospheric Research) / NSSL (National Severe Storms Laboratory) in Oklahoma and other units, and made a brief report on “ The application of quality control of radar data and attenuation of electromagnetic wave to precipitation estimation methods”, explaining that dual polarization radar is used in QPESUMS to optimize and adjust its parameters to conform to the application of rainfall characteristics in Taiwan, so as to improve the accuracy of Taiwan's QPESUMS.
