Opening Ceremony of Product Collection and Marketing Office of Cooperative of Shi-an Community Eco-friendly Rice Industry Promotion Campaign - Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation, MOA

Shi-an Community, on March 17, held Eco-friendly Rice Industry Promotion Campaign and Premier Ching-de Lai of the Executive Yuan arrived personally to cut the ribbon and witness the first multi-functional product collection and marketing office upon community residents’ fund raising, planning and construction of storage, rice husking, refrigeration, baking, rice food research and development and sales in Taiwan in order to encourage business development of rural community.

Director-General Lee of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB) accompanied Premier Lai and Deputy Minister Tui-chi Li of the Council of Agriculture (COA) to the site, visited youth farmers’ stalls and recognized Neighborhood Head Yu-liang Liao of Shi-an Community who called for the construction of cooperative with residents to implement community welfare and service and result in positive long-term care outcome by eco-friendly concept in rural villages. Upon the support of SWCB projects of regional highlights of rural villages and business operation guidance of rural communities, multifunctional product collection and marketing office has been accomplished as scheduled. In this year, with rice crop of the first cultivation, production facilities of non-toxic rice can be implemented. It is expected that eco-friendly business operation in rural villages can integrate first-grade production, second-grade manufacturing and third-grade marketing development and guide rural village development by sixth-grade industry and return the revenues of cooperative to farmers. 20% of benefits are returned to community and it provides medical shuttle bus, senior meals, environmental management and tutoring for children to establish friendly life and production recycling system and lead to overall community care model of Long-term Care 2.0 to create Utopia upon cooperation, shared well-being and the elderly care.
