The SWCB held the 2019 International Symposium on Large-scale Failure Disaster Prevention and Control Technology, and invited 11 experts and scholars in the field of large-scale failure disaster prevention and control from Italy, Norway, Japan, and Taiwan to discuss issues related to large-scale failure disaster prevention and control. In addition to the more in-depth planning and suggestions regarding the practices of large-scale failure prevention and reduction, the results of this symposium enhance Taiwan’s international visibility and influence in the field of large-scale failure prevention and control. Through this symposium, Taiwan has established an international exchange platform, which can quickly acquire new international knowledge, improve the response capacity of Taiwan to slopeland disaster, reduce the loss of lives and properties, and achieve the visions of conservation, innovative, sustainability, and smart disaster prevention, and promote the concepts and technologies through international cooperation, thus, building Taiwan’s international brand for disaster prevention.
