2018 Taiwan-Japan Sabo Disaster Prevention and Control Technology Seminar - Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation, MOA

In order to continuously promote international exchanges and cooperation, SWCB specially invited 12 Japanese experts and scholars to hold “2018 Taiwan-Japan Sabo Disaster Prevention and Control Technology Seminar” at National Cheng Kung University. The meeting mainly discussed the countermeasures and technological development of slope Sabo disasters. Representatives from various academic and political fields in Taiwan were invited to attend the seminar and discussed on the topics of the current situation of disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation of East Japan Earthquake and the disaster on Izu Ōshima, and the general situation of Japan's Sabo prevention education. The participants also visited the Shenmu Village Observatory in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, the DF190 Disaster Treatment Project in Fengqiu Village, Nantou County, the Landslide Treatment Project in Shang’an Village and 921 Earthquake Education Park in order to let Japanese experts and scholars understand the current development of soil and water conservation technology in Taiwan and further share strategies and successful experiences of slope disaster prevention and control between Taiwan and Japan.
